Pewter is an ancient alloy
which was wrought into objects of art in Roman times. This early pewter, because of its
lead content, was soft and soon became dull and lifeless.
Modern pewter is a non-toxic alloy of tin combined with
small amounts of copper and antimony. To preserve its beauty, wash your pewter in warm
soapy water and dry immediately with a soft cloth. A pewter polish may be used
occasionally. With this little attention your pewter will bring many years of pleasure.
