- Goblets
Orcs are the evil pawns of Sauron and Saruman. This goblet is different
from the others as it is a port goblet, hence the smaller size. The idea behind this
goblet was to carve a view of the landscape looking out from inside a castle. The 3 stone
pillars that form the 3 points to the port goblet are the 3 towers of a castle.
The scenes shown between these towers are parts of the landscape outside the castle. One
scene shows a paved outer courtyard leading to a large, heavily re-enforced wooden gate.
Another panel shows a road leading away from the castle, between two tall stone walls,
heading off to the castle on a hill in the distance. The third panel shows a Nazgul raging
at the walls of the castle because of his inability to breach them. The three small shield
panels depict two types of orcs and their weapons.
